Andy and Val are welcoming and friendly; and in fact are so very good at making you feel at home that it's really hard to leave! We will definitely be back and I strongly suspect that this B&B will feature in our holiday plans every year from now on - it's that good.
Church Farm Barn was recommended to us by friends, and we were not disappointed. In fact, in all our travels around the UK, we have never stayed at a place that has met all our expectations and more. Set in peaceful Edingthorpe, which is well off the beaten path, it is the perfect base to explore the area.We stayed in the Gold Room, which was superb. Andy & Val made sure it came supplied with absolutely everything a weary traveller needs - the bed linen was luxurious, the full-size TV a refreshing change, complementary bath robes, shower gel and bath essence a treat, the wine, water and range of teas and coffees very welcoming, not to mention fresh fruit, biscuits, cake and chocolates. There's a fridge in the room that's very handy for the likes of us who like our impromptu picnics; and the Gold room has a wonderful terrace where you can sip wine and watch the sun set.The communal breakfast table in the morning was a bit different, but we had a great time chatting to the other guests. The food is superb - from traditional English breakfasts to poached eggs on toast to continental breakfasts...and let's not forget the Honeytop jams and marmalades, which were divine. And the best part is Andy's coffee pot, which is never empty (perfect for caffeine addicts like me)!
