A heavenly stay in quaint, yet elegant and luxurious, surroundings

Now back in London, we feel bereft of the tranquil relaxation of our holiday, but happy to have experienced such a lovely place. In short, we cannot recommend Church Farm Barn enough. Thank you, Val and Andy, for a fabulous break.

Val and Andy’s B&B is a cut above the rest; a spacious, but cosy, converted barn, nestled amongst the fields of north Norfolk. From the moment we arrived, were welcomed warmly and given a short tour of the barn, we knew we had stumbled across somewhere special.

The star quality of Church Farm Barn emanates not just from the impressive building and its stylish décor, but also from the hosts themselves. This stellar B&B owes much to Val and Andy’s eye for detail and their understanding of the needs of their guests. Their great pride in their home and business is evident in every corner of the barn, from the pretty vintage crockery (which I particularly loved), to the multitude of thoughtful and practical touches in the guest rooms. We wanted for nothing during our stay and spent most of our first evening discovering little flourishes of luxury, which I won’t mention in this review, lest it spoil it for future visitors. Suffice to say, it felt like a home-from-home (albeit it a far more stylish and tranquil one!)

A hearty and delicious breakfast of locally-sourced foods and home-baked bread greeted us each morning and set us up perfectly for a day of exploring surrounding area. And there is much to explore! From picturesque villages, to National Trust properties, to village pubs and windswept coastal walks - there is something for everyone. As attentive, but never imposing, hosts, Val and Andy were able to offer lots of tips and local knowledge, recommending places to visit and eat. So much so that, despite staying for four days, we couldn’t pack everything in – which is fortunate, as we therefore have the perfect excuse to return.
